Industrial Evaporators for Sale

Used Evaporators

Evaporators separate a compound’s liquid components through vaporization. The process uses heat to evaporate a liquid — usually water — from the primary product. Typical applications include concentrating, dehydrating, distilling and stripping heat-sensitive products.

Evaporators are popular in the food processing industry to remove water from condensed milk and concentrated drinks.

Other examples of industries that evaporators serve are:

  • Wastewater treatment.
  • Oil and gas refining.
  • Chemical processing.
  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Paper mills.
  • Stone cutting.
  • Printing ink.
  • Metalworking and machining.

Types of Used Evaporators for Sale at Louisiana Chemical Equipment Company

Louisiana Chemical Equipment Company has an extensive inventory of pre-owned evaporators featuring various makes and models, including:

Short Path Evaporators

Our used short-path evaporators have an internal condenser for gently processing products highly sensitive to heat.

Thin Film Evaporators

These machines produce a thin film of liquid on the product’s surface, so the product volatilizes more quickly. Thin film evaporators allow for continual and solid processing of temperature-sensitive or fouling products. They prevent the disintegration of these materials by quickly separating volatile and less volatile components.

The separation occurs under controlled conditions and uses the indirect heat transfer and mechanical agitation of the flowing product film. These machines have a short residence time, excellent evaporation rates and high processing capabilities.

Wiped Film Evaporators

Our used wiped film evaporators move the product through a heated cylindrical surface and mix it continuously with a rotating wiper system. Condensation usually takes place in a vacuum outside the machine. The wiped film evaporator is also an ideal choice for the continuous processing of heat-sensitive, viscous and fouling products.

The system optimizes heat and mass transfer by keeping the film turbulent and speeding up the evaporation process. These machines offer a consistent refining process, large evaporation rates and low residence time.

Scraped Surface Evaporators

During evaporation, scraped evaporators constantly scrape the liquid to prevent sticking or scorching. These machines are ideal for highly viscous and heat-sensitive liquids.

Film evaporators

Our used film evaporators are excellent for producing purified substances from heat-sensitive and difficult-to-handle products. These machines prevent quality deterioration by using a vacuum and keeping contact between the product and a heated surface at a minimum.

Secondary reactions such as polymerization — the combination of molecules to form a larger molecule — and condensation help preserve product properties, including smell, color and taste. The capacity to retain product characteristics makes these systems vital to many different industries.

Paddle Evaporators

These evaporators offer indirect conduction heating to process materials with good thermal stability. After a special configuration, you can use these machines to process materials that need to recover solvents, are heat-sensitive or need drying under a rough vacuum.

With these machines, you can inject mediums to cool and crystalize materials or heat the materials and reactors. They offer high-efficiency heat transfer.

Turba Film Evaporators

Our turba film evaporators are thin film dryers that process many organic and inorganic fluids with sensitive temperatures and viscosities. Materials enter the feed section above the thermal wall and are distributed onto a thin film with the centrifugal action of rotor blades.

Agitation of the falling film on the thermal walls produces a high heat transfer rate and vapor formation. Rotor blades keep the film in a continuous motion without overheating to complete processing in one pass without recirculation.

Air Swept Evaporators

These evaporators are designed for versatility and rugged duty. They utilize adjustable paddles and air dams to create an optimum heat transfer of air to solids. As wet products enter the dryer inlet, hot air and agitation reduce the drying time. The design incorporates mixing, grinding and deagglomerating actions in a single pass.

Falling Film Evaporators

Our falling film evaporators use a shell and tube design to evaporate heat-sensitive liquids. Materials enter the feed and disperse throughout the device’s heating tubes. With partial evaporation, the materials flow and form a thin film on the walls. Gravity causes the liquid and vapor to move downhill and separate from one another.

Rotor Evaporators

These devices gently remove solvents. A flask rotates at a specified speed, making the materials form a large film on the inner wall. The flask is heated evenly, causing materials with a lower boiling point to evaporate rapidly.
